Schenectady, New York (Amtrak Station)

Schenectady, New York, is home to an important transportation hub: the Schenectady station on the Amtrak network.

Capital District Transportation Authority, which owns the adjacent Albany-Rensselaer station and the Saratoga Springs station, erected the new facility in 2018.

Five Amtrak lines stop in Schenectady. From Chicago to Boston and New York, the Lake Shore Limited runs once daily in each direction (via two sections east of Albany).

In addition, two trains go between Niagara Falls and New York City every day via the Empire Service.

  • Maple Leaf provides service between Toronto and New York City twice daily.

Albany-Rensselaer (Amtrak Station)

Located in Rensselaer, New York, 2.4 kilometers west of Albany, across the Hudson River, lies the Rensselaer Rail Station, also known as Albany-Rensselaer, on the station's platforms.

Located in the heart of the Capital District, this station is Amtrak's central hub in the area. The Capital District Transportation Authority manages it.

Unlike the Rensselaer station in Indiana, this one is across the river from Albany. The station is called "Albany–Rensselaer" by Amtrak.

The Boston and New York legs of Amtrak's Lake Shore Limited split here, and the station is served by other trains along the Empire Corridor.
